At Performance Driver Training we offer a range of different 'on road' driving courses and coaching to suit your needs.

 

Motorway Tuition, PassPlus and Refresher Coaching   From £30 per hour

This may be for a new driver, a refresher for a qualified driver who may not have driven for a period of time or for someone who has lost their driving confidence. This coaching can be carried out in your own vehicle or at a small additional charge, one of our vehicles (manual or automatic).

Advanced Road Driving  and/or  Advanced Test Preparation   

£95.00 Half day              £185.00 Full day

The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) both have advanced driving tests that will thoroughly examine you driving skills. Both tests follow a common theme of driving to the police style 'system of car control', as laid out in the Book/DVD 'Roadcraft'. Some of the elements include:                     

  • Steering control                                                       
  • Acceleration sense                                        
  • Skid avoidance / Use of ABS
  • Forward planning                                                            
  • Advanced observation       
  • Commentary driving
  • And much, much more...

The course is carried out in your own vehicle and can be on a 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 basis, or one of our vehicles at additional cost. At the end of the course you will receive a written report on your driving and advice on how to further improve prior to taking your chosen advanced driving test. You will also receive a signed Certificate.

If you have already passed an advanced test or are not looking to take a test we can still coach you towards an advanced standard or improve upon you current driving skills. We will tailor the sessions around your own needs. Again at the conclusion of the course you will receive a signed Certificate.

This training is also very good preparation for someone who is planning to do emergency response, blue light driving in the future. Also if you have taken a standard/response/advanced driving course and have not achieved the required standard of driving, you can improve your roadcraft and vehicle control skills prior to re-taking the standard/response/advanced driving course. We can also provide a suitable vehicle, currently a BMW 320d, at a small addition cost.

Performance Car Control

£95.00 Half day      £185.00 Full day

May be you have just acquired or already own, a high performance car and want to adjust your skill level to fully control and appreciate the thrill of driving it safely on the road. This course is as much about forward planning and observation skills as it is about the physical job of handling the car.
